Danish team received a direct invitation to the upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event in Oakland, sponsored by ESL.
With the direct invitation, Astralis join the list of event participants, which already includes Virtus.Pro, SK Gaming and Team Liquid.
Still, Astralis are not in their best condition. Recently Astralis failed in play-off ELEAGUE quarterfinal match against mousesports. They also demonstrated disappointing game in ECS S1 LAN-final. Astralis took the last place in Group B losing matches against Cloud 9 and TSM.
However, Danish team became one of top-8 teams of ESL One Cologne 2016 Major. Stand-ins for Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye and Peter "dupreeh" Rothmann reinforced team, and they won Group A decider-match against Team Dignitas.
IEM Oakland 2016 is going to start on November 19. Oracle-arena will host the event. 12 teams will join the event. A prize pool will be announced soon.
